Round 2 AFL action ends with a Sunday afternoon triple-header, as North Melbourne host West Coast, Richmond take on GWS and St Kilda travel west to take on Fremantle.

The Eagles have been decimated by COVID, with a staggering 13 changes made to their line-up to take on the Roos. North are now unbackable favourites, with several top-up players needed for the visitors to so much as field a side. Coming off a loss at home to Gold Coast, things could get seriously ugly for Adam Simpson’s men.

All eyes will then turn to the MCG, with a Dustin Martin-less Richmond looking to show they remain a force to be reckoned with against the Giants.

The last time these two teams played at the ‘G was the Tigers’ thumping win in the 2019 grand final, a date the Giants will remember only too well. Even without Toby Greene, they’d love the chance to exact some revenge.

Finishing off the round, the Dockers will be aiming to start the season with two consecutive wins against the Saints in their first home game of the season.

Freo got out of jail at the death to pip Adelaide by a solitary point in Round 1, with defender Heath Chapman the hero with a game-saving spoil in the final seconds. The Saints fell to Collingwood to heap yet more pressure on coach Brett Ratten, but he’d have been heartened to see a dominant aerial performance from prodigy tall Max King.
