Andreas Pereira confirms plan to secure permanent Man United departure
On-loan Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira has reiterated his intention to secure a permanent move to Flamengo as soon as possible.
Flamengo stint
Brazilian international Pereira is of course currently in the midst of a 2nd successive temporary spell away from Old Trafford.
After struggling to nail down a starting berth in Italy with Lazio last season, the 25-year-old returned to base this past summer, before being swiftly shipped off once more.
Pereira secured a return to his home country, with Brasileiro giants Flamengo.
And to say that he has since enjoyed an upturn in fortunes in Rio de Janeiro would be putting it lightly.
The once so highly-regarded midfield talent has gone on to establish himself as an integral figure in Flamengo’s ranks in the middle of the park, racking up five goals and an assist across 24 appearances thus far (22 starts).

‘My desire…’
In turn, it has come as little surprise to hear of murmurs beginning to spread of late regarding a potentially permanent departure from Manchester for Pereira.
With the likes of Paul Pogba, Bruno Fernandes, Fred, Scott McTominay and Nemanja Matic above him in the midfield pecking order in Ralf Rangnick’s squad, it is viewed as likely that the Red Devils would sanction a sale, in the event of a sufficient offer arriving next summer.
And as outlined above, if Pereira himself has his way, then such a development is precisely what will ultimately be forthcoming.
Speaking in an interview with ESPN Brazil this weekend, the one-time PSV Eindhoven youth was drawn on his plans beyond the close of the current campaign.
And Pereira went on to confirm that his desire has long remained to secure a permanent home for himself with Flamengo, a goal which he intends to ‘do everything’ to make a reality:
‘My desire has always been to stay here at Flamego, and now we are going to do everything.’
‘We are going to talk to President Landim and Marcos Braz to make this possible. Of course, I have a feeling that I owe the fans a title.’
‘As I told them, you can count on me, I’ll do my best so that next year we can come out with those titles there.’
