Shakhtar Donetsk winger Mykhaylo Mudryk is hot property after impressing in Europe

Arsenal are said to be leading the hunt for Shakhtar Donetsk star Mykhaylo Mudryk.

The Ukrainian has caught the attention of Premier League sides after impressing in the Champions League this season, scoring twice in two games.

Mudryk was the subject of much interest from top clubs over the summer, with the 21-year-old’s electric pace and immediate nature of interest to the likes of Gunners boss Mikel Arteta.

But North London are not the only clubs interested in the winger – Newcastle, Sevilla and Everton are all said to be interested in securing the five-cap international service.

Due to increased demand, Shakhtar will increase the expected fee for the player, reports CBS.

Sources suggest that Igor Jovicevic’s side will be seeking over £43m to gift their key asset away.

Mudryk has previously expressed his desire to play in England, saying: “I think everyone dreams about the Premier League.

“It’s hard to say but Arsenal are a very good team, a very good coach, I like the way they play.

“From my side, I can’t say no [to Arsenal]. But transfers are not just my decision.”

Competition for the forward will heat up again in January, but the race is open and Mudryk will have no shortage of options if he decides to make a move.
