Brisbane Broncos forward TC Robati remains stood down from all club activities after being charged with alleged unlicensed driving on January 26.

The 21-year-old was pulled over by police in the northern Brisbane suburb of Stafford and slapped with a Notice to Appear before the Brisbane Magistrates Court in March.

Robati was earlier charged with sexual assault for an alleged incident in a Brisbane bar on December 21 last year.

He appeared for a mention in Brisbane Magistrates Court on January 18 with the case adjourned.

The Broncos had earlier referred the alleged incident to the NRL integrity unit and put out a statement on December 30 where club CEO Dave Donaghy said that the club acknowledged it was “a serious matter”.

“The Board and I will review the matter further following TC’s court appearance in January,” Donaghy added.

AAP has been told by the club that no further official comment will be be made in the wake of the driving charge, but that Robati remains stood down.

Robati’s absence for an expected extended period is a blow to Brisbane’s forward stocks after Kobe Hetherington suffered a biceps tear at training late last year which is set to keep him out of action for the first month of the season.

The recent signing of Samoan international prop Marty Taupau has come at the right time and will boost Brisbane’s middle forward rotation.

The New Zealand-born Robati can play as a second-rower or as a middle forward and impressed in his debut season of 2021 where he played 10 first grade games.

His form was not as strong last year where he made just seven top-grade appearances.
