PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Caleb Love hit a game-tying and green light 37 seconds apart and North Carolina moved in a 21st Final Four win, beating UCLA 73-66 on Friday night in a March Madness power program bout.

Love, a sophomore, finished with a career-high 30 points, including six 3s and two game-defining free throws with 7.8 seconds remaining. She scored 27 of Carolina’s 45 points in the second half, including one straight 10-point stretch that kept Tar Heels (27-9) in the game.

North Carolina’s next match is Sunday against Saint Peter in the first 8-vs.-15 bout at Elite Eight. The 15th-seeded Peacocks beat Purdue 67-64 the night before.

None stood out more than Love, who was held to five points in last week’s win over Baylor, but managed one more than that for a decisive 37 seconds. His green light 3 came with 1:03 remaining and marked the last of 14 lead changes in a game that also drew eight.

The fourth seed UCLA (27-8) lost two wins from the 20th Final Four. Last year’s season ended with a shot from near the half by Gonzaga’s Jalen Suggs. This time, Love did it at the Bruins, who got 16 points from Jules Bernard and 15 from Tyger Campbell.

In their second-round win over Baylor, Tar Heels squandered a 25-point lead only to put things together and draw the game in extra time.

The game became uncertain after Brady Manek was sent off for an unintentional elbow. Manek played all but two minutes in this one and finished with 13 points.
