Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger agreed to transfer to Spanish champion Real Madrid in a four -year deal when his contract expires at the end of the season, Sky Sports said.
Chelsea coach Thomas Tuchel said last month that the 29 -year -old German would leave the club.
Rudiger joined Chelsea from Roma in 2017 and won the England Cup, the Champions League, the Europa League, the UEFA Super Cup and the Club World Cup for the London team.
The sanctions imposed by the British government on Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich after the Ukraine invasion of Russia means that the club cannot extend contracts or hire new players.
Chelsea confirmed last week that terms were agreed with a consortium led by the Los Angeles Dodgers Todd Boehly co -owner, and supported by Clearlake Capital, about the acquisition of the London club by 4.25 billion pounds ($ 5.24 billion) .
The proposal was sent to the government and the Premier League for approval.
