Cronulla Sharks demonstrates faith in prostitute Blake Braley with a new four-year contract

Blake Braley secured his future with Cronula after putting on a pen for a new four-year contract.

Brayley was among several major Sharks players leaving his contract late next year, but the long-term extension will see him in the Shire by the end of 2026.

“This is where I grew up, I was a local teenager, I obviously wanted to stay here, so I’m excited to be a part of the future,” Brayley said after the official announcement.

“It was my first choice, I really wanted to stay, so I’m grateful I did.

Braille has played 59 games for the Sharks since making his debut in 2019. This season, the 23-year-old has played 24 games and proved he is capable of playing an 80-minute prostitute.

The contract extension is a huge demonstration of faith by Cronula and shows that the club sees Braille as a long-term number 9, despite the arrival of Cameron McInnes of the Dragons this off-season.

Although this marks another huge stage in the list for the new coach Craig Fitzgibbon, who together with McInnes brought the pair of Storm Dale Finucaine and Nico Hines to the club as high-ranking additions in the summer.

“He (Fitzgibbon) was good for the whole situation and (was) the reason I wanted to stay. The first two weeks were great, he’s a really experienced coach and I’m excited to work with him, “Braley said of his new coach.

“I have seen a lot of changes since the pre-season, the boys are back in shape and healthy and it is a really nice feeling to train at the moment.

“(New employees) fit perfectly. They train very well and I enjoy building some connections with them. “

Along with Braille and McIneas, the Sharks added the promising rake Jaden Burrell, the player of the year for the 2021 Queensland Cup, who helped bring the Wynnum-Manly Seagulls to the grand final.

Braille, meanwhile, is becoming the last number 9, which was quickly taken off the market as a number of clubs struggled to find a prostitute for the 2023 season.
