Dortmund planning a bid for Anthony Elanga as Denzel Dumfries talks begin – Blessing Sports News
There are only two weeks to go until the end of the January transfer window and Manchester United are keeping busy as Erik ten Hag looks to continue strengthening his squad

Manchester United have been proactive in the January transfer window so far – having made two additions but there could be more to come in the next few weeks.
Jack Butland became the Red Devils’ first signing since his loan move from Crystal Palace, before Wout Weghorst also made a move to a club on loan – this time from Championship side Burnley. Meanwhile, there has been one departure, with Martin Dubravka returning to parent club Newcastle.
However, there could be a few more through before the window closes on January 31 – with Denzel Dumfries the latest to be linked with a move to Old Trafford. Meanwhile, the futures of Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho are up for discussion with the England forward nearing a new deal.
Here are the latest rumors to come out of Old Trafford.
Dortmund plots Eaglea’s bid
Borussia Dortmund are reportedly planning a move for Manchester United star Anthony Elanga.
According to talkSPORT, via FourFourTwo, Dortmund are considering making a bid for Swedish winger Elanga following the emergence of Alejandro Garnacho into the first-team picture at Old Trafford. The 20-year-old has failed to score in 18 appearances for the Red Devils this season, having managed to qualify last term.
However, Dortmund are hoping to lure the United forward to Germany and it is understood Elanga would be open to new challenges. Elanga is thought to be desperate for more game time and will consider a move to another big European club, with Dortmund and Everton among those linked with moves.
Rashford has the added advantage of being able to offer Elanga Champions League football this season, as well as an almost guarantee of participating in the competition every year.
Man Utd ‘confident’ with Rashford’s new contract
Manchester United have opened new contract talks with star striker Marcus Rashford and are confident of tying him down on a five-year contract.
The England international’s current deal at Old Trafford runs until the summer of 2024 after United recently triggered a one-year extension clause in his existing deal. The club are now looking to agree a deal with Rashford that will see him commit his future to the Red Devils into his early 30s.

Rashford, 25, is expected to receive a £200k increase in his weekly wages but the club are unwilling to break the £300k barrier on any contract in order to reduce the wage gap within their ranks and make their spending more sustainable.
It is now believed United are opening contract talks with Rashford’s representatives, his brother Dwaine Maynard, with confidence on all sides that a deal can be reached. Rashford has scored eight goals in seven games since the World Cup, in which he bagged three for England.
Man Utd ‘in talks’ with Dumfries
Manchester United are reportedly in talks with Inter Milan over a deal to sign Denzel Dumfries.
The 26-year-old has been linked with a move to Old Trafford after impressing at the World Cup, where he started every game as the Netherlands reached the quarter-finals. Dumfries attracted interest from Chelsea, United and Tottenham in the summer but Erik ten Hag should accelerate talks to sign the right-back in January.
According to Calcio Mercato, Inter have opened discussions with United over a possible deal for Dumfries to move to the Premier League. The former PSV defender is also available for a discounted fee of around £35 million, despite having two years remaining on his current contract at Milan.
Dumfries has only been at Inter since August 2021 having moved from PSV for £11 million following an extraordinary Euro 2020 campaign with the Netherlands. Although Dumfries is an important cog at the club, Inter are open to selling the player and they could make a big profit if they get rid of their asking price.
