Parramatta’s chances of getting their season back on track have copped a hit with star halfback Mitchell Moses ruled out of their Round 11 clash with Canberra.

Moses suffered a grade-one concussion late in the loss to the Gold Coast in the last Magic Round match on Sunday night and will be stood down for 11 days under the concussion protocols.

Eels coach Brad Arthur said his son Jakob Arthur was likely to deputise for Moses against the Raiders on Saturday night in Canberra.

Five-eighth Dylan Brown said Moses “is one of our best players, if not the best”.

“It’s disappointing, it’s the way the game goes and we care more about his health rather than him playing. I’ve got to step up and do certain things. Kicking’s probably the main thing, that’s what we lose when we lose Mitch.”

Wests Tigers forward John Bateman, who pulled out of Sunday’s win over the Dragons when he twinged his hamstring in the warm-up, is unlikely to play against Souths on Saturday.

Roosters forward Egan Butcher (head knock) will need to clear the concussion protocols to take on Penrith on Friday while Broncos veteran Kurt Capewell is in the same situation heading into their Thursday trip to Melbourne.

The Storm will be boosted by the return of prop Tui Kamikamica from suspension.

Dragons centre Zac Lomax did not play in NSW Cup last weekend after he was controversially dropped by Anthony Griffin so it is unlikely he will be brought straight back into the centres despite the loss to the Tigers.

Griffin said he fully intended to meet with Lomax this week after giving the 23-year-old a chance to clear his mind with a weekend away from football.

Dolphins duo Jesse Bromwich and Brenko Lee were ruled out of Magic Round with hamstring injuries and two-try debutant Valynce Te Whare is set to retain his spot even if Lee is available.

Fellow centre Euan Aitken limped off in the win over Cronulla with a hamstring concern of his own so he is under a cloud for when Redcliffe return after this week’s bye.

Four players are in judiciary strife from the round but can all avoid suspensions by taking a fine.

Warriors duo Jackson Ford ($1000-$1500 for dangerous contact) and Marata Niukore ($3000 or two games for a careless high tackle), Cowboys prop Jamayne Taunoa-Brown ($1000-$1500 for a careless high tackle) and Canterbury forward Corey Waddell ($3000 or two games for a crusher high tackle) are likely to be lighter in the hip pocket.

Ford will need to pass the concussion protocols to suit up against the Dogs at Accor Stadium on Friday while winger Edward Kosi (knee) also has to prove his fitness.

Teams will officially be announced at 4pm (AEST) on Tuesday.

Round 11 teams

Storm vs Broncos, at AAMI Park – 7.50pm, Thursday, May 11

Storm: Tui Kamikamica will return after serving his two-game dangerous contact ban.

Broncos: Kurt Capewell suffered a head knock in the win over Manly and is in some doubt.

Bulldogs vs Warriors, at Accor Stadium – 6pm, Friday, May 12

Bulldogs: Josh Addo-Carr is pushing to make an early return from an ankle injury as the winger tries to make a belated bid for an Origin recall with NSW.

Warriors: Jackson Ford ($1000-$1500 for dangerous contact) and Marata Niukore ($3000 or two games for a careless high tackle) are set to accept fines from the loss to Penrith.

Ford will need to pass the concussion protocols to suit up against the Dogs while winger Edward Kosi (knee) also has to prove his fitness.

Panthers vs Roosters, at BlueBet Stadium – 8pm, Friday, May 12

Panthers: Second-rower Liam Martin is running out of time to prove his fitness before Origin – he is a slight chance to return from his hamstring problem this week but Penrith are likely to keep him out until Round 12.

Roosters: Egan Butcher failed his HIA in the loss to the Cowboys and is unlikely to play given they have a five-day turnaround.

Rabbitohs vs Wests, at Accor Stadium – 3pm, Saturday, May 13

Rabbitohs: Jason Demetriou is likely to stick with the same 17 that did the job against the Storm.

Tigers: John Bateman is under a cloud after pulling out at the last minute before Sunday’s win over St George Illawarra. Asu Kepaoa is likely to stay in the starting pack if Bateman is out while bench forward Alex Seyfarth received a late call-up to the interchange.

Cowboys vs Dragons, at QCB Stadium – 5.30pm, Saturday, May 13

Cowboys: Jason Taumalolo is an outside chance to suit up this weekend as he nears a return from minor knee surgery but next week is a more likely return date.

Dragons: Zac Lomax did not play in NSW Cup last weekend after he was controversially dropped by Anthony Griffin so it is unlikely he will be brought straight back into the centres despite the loss to the Tigers.

Tautau Moga’s shoulder concern will keep him out for another week.

The Dragons rallied back from a 10-point deficit after Ben Hunt’s mid-game switch to hooker with Jayden Sullivan partnering Junior Amone in the halves so Griffin may start with that combination this weekend.

Raiders vs Eels, at GIO Stadium – 7.35pm, Saturday, May 13

Raiders: Xavier Savage made a strong comeback from a broken jaw on the wing but the form of Seb Kris at fullback and Jarrod Croker and Matthew Timoko in the centres means he will have to wait to get another crack at the No.1 jersey.

Eels: Mitchell Moses (concussion) is a big loss with Jakob Arthur set to take over as halfback.

Knights vs Titans, at McDonald Jones Stadium – 2pm, Sunday, May 14

Knights: Versatile forward Brodie Jones (thigh injury) should be right to return while Kurt Mann (abodominal strain) and Adam Elliott (groin) are maybes

Titans: Toby Sexton may be available after more than a month out with a broken wrist to challenge for an interchange berth.

Sea Eagles vs Sharks, at 4 Pines Park – 4.05pm, Sunday, May 14

Sea Eagles: Tom Trbojevic will soldier on with Manly adamant he is not being bothered by a groin injury while Jake Trbojevic (calf) needs at least one more week.

Five-eighth Josh Schuster is likely to again be out due to his thigh problem and “reconditioning work”.

Sharks: No changes likely for Craig Fitzgibbon’s squad despite the 20-point drubbing at the hands of the Dolphins.

Bye – Dolphins

Dolphins duo Jesse Bromwich and Brenko Lee were ruled out of Magic Round with hamstring injuries and two-try debutant Valynce Te Whare is set to retain his spot even if Lee is available.

Fellow centre Euan Aitken limped off in the win over Cronulla with a hamstring concern of his own so he is under a cloud for when Redcliffe return after this week’s bye to host Melbourne at Suncorp Stadium next Saturday.

Bench forward Ray Stone (concussion) will be available.
