Erik ten Hag says he will ‘beg forgiveness’ after Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure from Manchester United
Man United parted ways with Ronaldo after a controversial interview with Piers Morgan was aired in November, and the presenter spoke again

Piers Morgan has claimed that Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag will have to beg forgiveness for letting Cristiano Ronaldo leave if Arsenal win the Premier League.
Ten Hag and United made the decision to part ways with Ronaldo in November after a controversial interview between the Portuguese star and Morgan aired on TalkTV. In this conversation, the 37-year-old coach went on to criticize the Dutchman, the Glazers and the club in a scathing attack.

After weighing their options, the Reds have come to terms on a deal that has seen Ronaldo leave Old Trafford before the end of his contract, which expired at the height of this season. The striker went on to play in the World Cup as a free agent before signing for Saudi Arabia’s Al-Nassr.
During a talkSPORT phone call, Morgan lashed out at United and made the bizarre claim about an apology he feels he deserves. “Why don’t you come back and ask me at 6.30pm on Sunday and see how snotty they are all feeling at United then?” asked the 57-year-old.
“I’ve been watching it all. They’ve beaten some teams and had a good result against [Manchester] City.
“We’re not going to drop the flags yet, I think we (Arsenal) are going to absolutely demolish them on Sunday and so at that point I’m going to remind them that they managed to leverage the greatest footballer in history because they thought that was a great idea. .” When pressed for further comments on Ronaldo, Morgan added: “When we win the league and when United don’t win the league becaaaaaaaaaaaaaaause they got rid of the GOAT, I hope Erik ten Hag gets down on his knees and begs me for forgiveness and apologizes to Cristiano Ronaldo for the shocking disrespect he showed him.”
Since the World Cup break, United have beaten every team they have faced. This included a 2-1 win over City at the weekend.
