How Dusan Vlahovic is holding up potential Arsenal switch
A fresh insight into the efforts of Premier League giants Arsenal to land Fiorentina star Dusan Vlahovic has been provided on Monday evening.
Gunners eyeing Viola star
Serbian hitman Vlahovic, in the midst of a stellar campaign in Florence to date, has of course been hotly tipped to make the move to the Emirates this month.
This comes with now-former Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang having been banished to the stands, and both Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah due to see their contracts expire come the season’s end.
The 21-year-old, boasting 20 goals in just 24 appearances across all competitions this term, in turn, has been identified as the first-choice target to reinforce the club’s frontline by those in a position of power in north London.

And though the likes of capital rivals Tottenham and Serie A heavyweights Juventus are also known to be keen on the prolific striker, Arsenal have been widely labelled as the frontrunners to strike a deal.
Not only that, but Fiorentina are understood to be open to the prospect of a sale this month.
Vlahovic stalling
So, why the hold up?
Well, as alluded to above, late on Monday, an insight into precisely that has been forthcoming online.
The info comes by way of the Italian media, with Calciomercato reporter Eleonora Trotta having confirmed that Arsenal have indeed tabled an offer for Vlahovic, worth a hefty 70 million euro.
Trotta also reiterates the fact that Fiorentina, for such a fee, are ready to sell.
It is the hitman himself, however, who is holding matters up. This comes with Vlahovic eager to remain in Florence for the remainder of the campaign, or, potentially, until the summer of 2023, when his current contract is due to expire.
The assumption here is that the Serb is therefore not sold on the idea of joining Arsenal, and is as a result keen to avail of more widespread interest in his services following the conclusion of the campaign.
