IND-W vs AUS-W Live, 1st ODI: Alyssa Healy gives an electrifying start to Australia with a fifty! India needs a few quick wickets – Follow live updates: India Women have managed 225/8 on the board in the first ODI here at Harrup Park, Mackay. Opting to bowl, Australia Women were off to a good start as both the Indian openers – Shafali Verma and Smriti Mandhana departed cheaply. And, just when skipper Mithali Raj and debutant Yastika Bhatia were looking to shift gears, Darcie Brown provided the breakthrough to the hosts, picking up her third. However, some late hitting and a fine fifty from skipper Mithali Raj has helped the visitors post 225/8 on the board. Brown returned with the impressive figures of 4-33 while Sophie Molineux and debutant Hannah Darlington picked up two wickets each. Skipper Mithali Raj is the top scorer for the visitors (61 off 107).

India Women’s multi-format tour against Australia begins today with the first ODI here at Harrup Park, Mackay.  The visitors will play three ODIs, a one-off day-night test, and three T20Is from September 21-October 10. India Women is coming after suffering 1-2 defeats in ODIs as well as T20Is against England Women in June-July earlier this year and will be hoping for an improved show against the Australia Women. They have never won any ODI series against Australian Women in a bilateral series and will be aiming to start off with a win. Australia Women, on the other hand, will be in action after almost three-four months gap. They were in action when they toured New Zealand for 3 matches T20Is and ODI series back in May-April. While the T20I series ended in a tie after the last game ended in a no result due to rain, the Meg Lanning-side clean-swept New Zealand 3-0 in the ODI series.
