Liverpool confirm double personnel boost ahead of Atletico clash

Premier League giants Liverpool have, on Monday evening, confirmed a pair of timely boosts on the personnel front.

Atleti showdown

Jurgen Klopp and co. will of course be back in action tomorrow night.

After making short work of Watford in their return to Premier League matters on the back of the international break over the weekend, the Reds will turn their attentions towards Europe, for the third time this season.

A Champions League group stage showdown with Atletico Madrid lies in wait, at the Wanda Metropolitano.

Liverpool sit top of the Group B table as things stand, having rattled off successive victories over AC Milan (3-2) and FC Porto (5-1) thus far.

Alisson returns to the fray

And, as outlined above, on Monday evening, Liverpool’s hopes of making it nine points from a possible nine in 24 hours’ time have been handed a boost.

In a statement across the club’s social media platforms, the Merseysiders have confirmed that Brazilian duo Alisson and Fabinho – both of whom missed Liverpool’s win over Watford after a late return from international duty – will be at the disposal of Jurgen Klopp versus Atletico:

‘Liverpool are set to welcome Alisson Becker and Fabinho back into contention for Tuesday night’s Champions League tie with Atletico Madrid.’

In less positive news for the Reds, on the other hand, midfield talent Curtis Jones will play no part in the Spanish capital, ‘to build up his fitness’ after a minor injury concern.
