Liverpool have had some memorable kits over the years, but we want to know your favourite

Now it’s time to have your say. In the survey below, you can vote on which kit from the club’s rich history should be deemed as the greatest ever.

Liverpool aren’t interested in signing Otavio despite reports in Portugal claiming otherwise.

The Reds have repeatedly been linked with the Porto winger, who can play both in central midfield and on the right-wing, in the past with reports over the weekend suggesting the Portuguese outfit were expecting Liverpool to rekindle their interest in the 27-year-old and even claiming talks between the two sides had already been held.

However, the ECHO understands that is not the case with Anfield sources distancing the Reds from such speculation. Such links to the Portugal international have been dismissed as ‘entirely fabricated’ with club insiders insisting Liverpool have zero interest in Otavio, he’s not a target and never has been.

Reds bosses believe such reports have materialised from sources close to the midfielder in an effort to promote the Portuguese and drum up potential interest should he leave Porto.

Liverpool legend Divock Origi is set to join AC Milan after landing in the Italy to complete the deal.

Origi, who signed from Lille in 2014 for £10m, will leave Anfield upon the expiry of his contract at the end of June.

The Belgium international was restricted to just 175 appearances during his Liverpool career – of which only 68 were starts. Nevertheless, many of his 41 goals in that time were memorable. They included six derby strikes against Everton, a brace in the Champions League semi-final comeback against Barcelona in 2019, including the infamous ‘corner taken quickly’ goal, and the clinching goal in the subsequent final against Tottenham Hotspur.

On June 30, 2023 Mohamed Salah’s Liverpool contract will come to an end, writes Theo Squires.

While the Egyptian insisted last season that he will remain with the Reds for the upcoming season, his future beyond that is rather less certain.

He wants Liverpool and Liverpool want him but, so far, the two parties have been unable to reach a breakthrough in negotiations.

While the Reds won’t break their wage structure to retain the Egypt international, they are still willing to make him the best-paid player in the club’s history, yet the forward’s agent previously insisted that the 30-year-old had no intention of signing the offer put to him back in December.

Liverpool’s summer transfer window got off to an explosive start with the addition of three new signings and the departure of long-serving forward Sadio Mane to Bayern Munich, and it is expected that things may severely quieten down until the start of next season.

The Reds have recently denied reports linking them with Porto winger Otavio, but they have supposedly ‘made an offer’ for Ousmane Dembele, while an exciting teenager is set to join next month. Elsewhere, reports of a second swap-deal with Naby Keita have emerged.

Liverpool midfielder Naby Keita is set to enter the final 12 months of his current deal and negotiations over his future at Anfield are yet to begin, although earlier reports had revealed that the Reds were going to make it their priority once pre-season begins.

And following speculation that Liverpool were set to consider using the Guinea international as part of a ‘player-plus-cash’ deal to sign Nico Barella from Inter Milan, in order to help reduce his £77m asking price, a fresh report has revealed that Keita could be involved in another swap deal for a different player.

According to Calciomercato, Liverpool could offer Keita to Juventus as part of a swap deal to get Adrien Rabiot, who has expressed his desire to depart Turin this summer. It has been claimed that both players are valued at £17m and no fee would be involved for either club.

Liverpool may claim that their summer spending is over but the Reds have been linked with a move for Barcelona ’s Ousmane Dembele since the January transfer window, and now a report has revealed that Jurgen Klopp’s side have ‘made an offer’ for the Frenchman.

According to Spanish news outlet Sport, via Paisley Gates, Liverpool are one of five clubs to make an offer to sign Dembele as a free agent, with his contract situation at the Camp Nou still yet to be resolved following the end of the 2021/22 campaign.

The Catalan club remain hopeful of keeping hold of the forward, despite his disappointing return in Spain since joining from Borussia Dortmund in 2017 for €105 million plus a reported €40 million in add-ons, scoring 32 goals in 150 games in all competitions.

Liverpool are well recognised for bringing in young players for the future, as seen with all three of this year’s summer signings, but now they are set to add another addition to their setup with the transfer of Derry City youngster Trent Kone-Doherty.

Reports in Ireland claim that the youngster will officially join the Reds next month, following a season in Ireland in which he has been listed as a member of Derry’s first-team squad, while he made his debut earlier this year.

The teenager has also been capped eight times for Republic of Ireland’s Under 16 and Under 17 teams, scoring two goals. He is the latest addition to Liverpool’s youth set-up and will hope to follow in the footsteps of the likes of Harvey Elliott and Tyler Morton.

With a year remaining on his contract at Liverpool, the Reds have a decision to make over whether to keep Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain at Anfield for next season.

This time last year Liverpool’s attacking options were predominantly long-serving players who had helped deliver the Reds the Champions League and Premier League in successive seasons, writes Theo Squires.

However, despite just such famous glory, with contracts running out and 30th birthdays looming, it was clear a revamp would soon be needed.

Incoming sporting director Julian Ward was tasked with refreshing Liverpool ’s forward options in 2022 after it was confirmed he would be replacing Michael Edwards. And in the space of a few months, he’s done exactly that.

Serge Gnabry is a target for Real Madrid, according to reports from Spain.

Outlet SPORT claims the player’s contract situation could see him depart the Allianz Arena this summer. He’s about to enter the final year of his contract with Bayern and has plenty of interest from clubs across Europe.

The report adds that while Real Madrid have their eye on the winger, Liverpool are also ‘considering’ a move following the departures of Sadio Mane and Divock Origi.

Paul Merson says that he is “worried for Liverpool” after the departure of Sadio Mane.

Last week it was confirmed that Mane had left the Reds after six years at Anfield to join Bayern Munich. Liverpool agreed a £35m deal with the Bundesliga giants for the Senegal international, who had one year left on his contract.

Before the legendary forward’s exit, Jurgen Klopp moved to bring Darwin Nunez in from Benfica for a fee that could reach a club record £85m. But despite effectively replacing Mane, former Arsenal star and Sky Sports pundit Merson is concerned.

Liverpool star Naby Keita is once again being linked with a swap deal away from Anfield.

The future of the Guinea international has been the subject of speculation in recent weeks. Keita’s current deal is set to expire at the end of next season, with the club thought to be keen on handing the player an extension.

Reports last week claimed that a swap deal could be on the cards involving Keita, with Inter Milan midfielder Nicolo Barella moving the other way to Anfield. Barella, who is an Italy international, is valued at around £77million and was first linked with Liverpool last summer.

Now a fresh report has listed another player who has been tipped to be part of a swap deal involving Keita. This time it involves Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot.

Peterborough United chairman Darragh MacAnthony has admitted that it’s his ‘dream’ to see Liverpool sign one of the club’s players.

MacAnthony was referring to young centre-back Ronnie Edwards, who has impressed at the Championship club. The 19-year-old made 34 appearances in the second tier of English football for the Posh last season.

And, on Saturday, Edwards was included in the starting line-up for England Under-19s in their UEFA European Under-19 Championship match against Israel. It was the defender’s fourth cap at that level.

Sadio Mane might have called time on his Liverpool career after six seasons this summer, but he could have left Anfield in 2021 had Lionel Messi got his way.

Mane completed his move to Bayern Munich last week in a deal that could be worth up to £35m after deciding to seek pastures new having won every major honour on offer to him with the Reds. However, the Bavarians weren’t the only side interested in the 30-year-old.

Paris Saint-Germain also held talks with the forward, according to his advisor, Bacary Cisse, who says that the uncertainty over the future of the club’s then sporting director Leonardo put paid to any possibility of a switch.

And Cisse also claimed that if Messi had signed a new contract with Barcelona last year, as opposed to leaving for PSG on a free transfer, one of his conditions was for the Catalans to sign Mane.
