Manchester United have 10 days remaining to finalise any further January business under Erik ten Hag.

Having been appointed by the club this summer, Ten Hag made five permanent signings during his window at the helm. Tyrell Malacia, Christian Eriksen, Lisandro Martinez, Casemiro and Antony were all purchased while goalkeeper Martin Dubravka also joined on loan to offset Dean Henderson heading to Nottingham Forest.

United have also made their move this month with Jack Butland and Wout Weghorst signing on loan. Butland was sworn in to replace Dubravka after he was recalled by parent club Newcastle midway through the season.

United are back in Premier League action on Sunday afternoon when they take on table-topping Arsenal is what is set to be a mouth-watering showdown at the Emirates Stadium. That follows their 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace in midweek which, momentarily, dented their own title ambitions.

And we’re also following any movements in the sale of United – will any more interested parties make themselves known after Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s announcement in the week?

According to the Mirror, United want to tie Alejandro Garnacho down to the ‘longest contract’ ever handed out by the club.

It is reported that the Reds want to get the Argentine to put pen to paper on a new eight-year deal. However, it is thought that his family and close advisors are not keen to commit to more than a four-year contract. Talks are also said to be hitting snags over wages.

Kobbie Mainoo made his debut for United earlier this month, starting the 3-0 Carabao Cup win over Charlton Athletic at Old Trafford.

It marked a memorable evening for the Stockport-born midfielder, who has been on United’s books since the age of just nine-years-old. It could, though, have worked out so differently for the youngster.

According to a report by Jeunes Footeux, United, along with Tottenham Hotspur, are keeping an eye on Rennes midfielder Lovro Maje.

It is reported that the Croatian star has made his way onto the Reds’ ‘radar’ and it remains to be seen if they will move for his signature before this month’s transfer window draws to a close in a little over a week’s time.

Valencia have made a ‘fresh’ attempt to sign United winger Facundo Pellistri, according to a report by the Daily Mail.

The Spanish outfit want to sign the Uruguayan international on loan for the remainder of the season to strengthen their pool of attacking options.

Pellistri has made just one appearance for the Reds since joining them in October 2020, making his debut against Charlton Athletic in the Carabao Cup earlier this month.

Fresh from returning to Carrington, Jadon Sancho will now have ambitions of forcing his way back into the United squad before too long.

The winger worked on an individual training programme in the Netherlands during the World Cup break, advised by Erik ten Hag, in a bid to get his mojo back. Ten Hag has developed an ability to get the best out of players and resurrect careers, recently proven by Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s renaissance.

If Ten Hag has managed to get Wan-Bissaka going again, Sancho can do the same.

According to a report by Tuttomercatoweb, United have ‘offered’ Donny van de Beek to Juventus in exchange for midfielder Weston McKennie.

It is claimed that United have made the proposal ahead of it possibly coming to fruition in the summer. Van de Beek is out injured for the remainder of the campaign with a long-term knee problem.

It is claimed that the Netherlands international has been mentioned as a makeweight in the deal during discussions between United and Juventus.

United are keeping a watchful eye on Harry Kane’s future at Tottenham Hotspur.

The Reds are going to be determined to add a world-class striker to their ranks this coming summer and the England captain is one of several options they are considering.

Kane is out-of-contract at the end of next season and the Reds are long-term admirers of him.

United are reportedly ‘interested’ in signing Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez.

That is according to a report by Calciomercato in Italy. They claim that Tottenham Hotspur are also interested in his signature, but Inter would demand a €100million offer to let him go.

According to a report by Italian outlet Calciomercato, United are ‘willing’ to offer AC Milan Diogo Dalot and Anthony Martial in exchange for defender Theo Hernandez.

United have refused to rule out the prospect of more additons before the window slams shut in just over a week’s time and it is claimed that Hernandez has made his way on the club’s radar. He is reportedly valued at £52million, but United believe they would stand a chance of signing the Frenchman if they offered Milan Dalot and Martial.

The report claims that United are still ‘assessing’ the duo’s long-term futures at Old Trafford.

Contrary to reports elsewhere, Borussia Dortmund are ‘not interested’ in signing United winger Anthony Elanga on loan this month.

The Swede has been heavily linked with a short-term switch to the German heavyweights in the last couple of weeks, amid mounting speculation about his future at Old Trafford.

However, reports in Germany suggest that is not the case.

United face the prospect of facing back-to-back Premier League clashes with rivals Leeds United in the space of just five days.

Should neither club require a replay in the fourth-round of the FA Cup, a provisional date of Wednesday, February 8 has been set for them to face each other at Old Trafford in a rearranged fixture. They were scheduled to meet back in September, but the contest was postponed because of police units being needed in London ahead of the Queen’s funeral.

Should the clash with Leeds in M16 go ahead, United will then face them again just a few days later at Elland Road in a scheduled meeting on Sunday, February 12.

Facundo Pellistri’s agent has warned United that his client needs to be playing regular football after opening up on the winger’s future.

According to his agent Edgardo Lasalvia, Pellistri’s game time is still insufficient. In an interview with Uruguayan media outlet Sport 890, Lasalvia explained how he sees his client’s career progressing from here onwards.

United are reportedly considering a loan move for Marco Reus this month and could also make a move for the Borussia Dortmund playmaker this summer.

United remain interested in a summer swoop for Tottenham striker Harry Kane.

The Mail claim United chiefs have already started exploring the particulars attached to a potential move for Kane at the end of the season.

They also suggest Kane is open to joining United.

United have blocked Everton from loaning Anthony Elanga – according to reports.

Everton continue to be linked with a temporary move for the Sweden attacker.

Elanga, 20, remains on the periphery having only started seven games under Erik ten Hag.

Reports from The Daily Star suggest that Ten Hag would prefer Elanga to play his football in a different environment should he leave Old Trafford this month. As such, the forward will have to consider other options on the table.

Reports suggest United are eyeing-up a swoop for Spain attacker Dani Olmo.

Olmo, 24, currently plays for RB Leipzig and has been valued at £35million.

He only has 18 months left to run on his contract and Leipzig could be forced to cash in.

Reports from GiveMeSport, as per this Football Talk article, indicate Erik ten Hag wants to bring the forward to Old Trafford after United were heavily linked with him under previous management in 2020, when he moved to his current club. Olmo can operate in several positions.
