Nine SEC Teams in National Softball Preseason Rankings

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (January 24, 2023) – The Southeastern Conference leads the 2023 Preseason ESPN.com/USA Softball Top 25 Poll with nine teams, including three teams in the top 10.

Florida is ranked fifth, Arkansas is sixth and Alabama is seventh. Tennessee placed 12th in the poll, followed by Georgia at No. 13, Kentucky at No. 17, LSU at No. 20, Auburn at No. 21 and Missouri at No. 23. In addition, Ole Miss and Mississippi State also received votes, which is voted on by coaching representatives of 10 Division I Conferences in the 10 USA Softball Regions as well as members of the National and Local media who consistently cover Division I Softball across the country.

SEC teams are slated to begin the 2023 softball season on Thursday, February 9, with conference play set to begin on Friday, March 10.
