Potential areas Tottenham could target in January revealed
Tottenham under Antonio Conte
Antonio Conte took charge of Tottenham last month and has since improved the club’s form a fair bit.
In the Premier League, Conte has taken charge of six games so far, drawing with Everton, beating Leeds, Brentford and Norwich before playing out an enthralling 2-2 draw with Liverpool and, this past weekend, hammering Crystal Palace 3-0.
This has seen Spurs move up to 5th in the Premier League with the Lilywhites having at least two games in hand on all of the teams above them which, if they win them all, could potentially see them move up to 4th in the table.
However, though Spurs have had a solid start to life under Conte, the former Juventus man is no doubt aware that this side is by no means the finished article.
Tottenham to target three areas?
Conte himself has recently outlined all of the things Tottenham can still improve despite going six league games unbeaten under him.
And now, with the January window fast approaching, it will be the first time the Italian is able to put his own stamp on the Lilywhites.
This, in turn, has not too surprisingly led to reports swirling over who Spurs could be set to sign.
Of late, Barcelona duo Clement Lenglet and Sergino Dest have been linked. Fiorentina hitman Dusan Vlahovic has also been linked a fair bit over the last few months.
Now, football.london have provided some insight into the areas Spurs could be looking to target in the winter window.
These areas are believed to be right-wing-back, left-centre-back and centre-forward:
The current feeling within the club is that the targets in January could end up being a new right wing-back, with Matt Doherty potentially moving on for more regular football, a new left-sided centre-back to provide competition for Ben Davies and a natural number nine to allow Kane to be rotated when needed and provide him with extra support up front
