While it feels like the transfer window is just about clicking into gear for some, Liverpool are seemingly ahead of the curve again.

Manchester City, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal and Manchester United all seemingly have a lot of business to carry out, meaning they could yet be busy right up until the opening weekend of the Premier League season.

But Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp will have an excellent idea as to what players will be available to him come the new term, barring a few fringe footballers who could yet move on before the window closes.

Nevertheless, the Reds remain a huge talking point for players, pundits and supporters alike

Mirror Sport has all of your latest Liverpool headlines.

Real Madrid will reportedly rival Liverpool for the signing of Jude Bellingham next summer.

The Borussia Dortmund sensation is rated as one of the top prospects in European football and is said to be attracting the interest of the Reds. Liverpool are expected to move for him next summer, having completed their summer business with the acquisitions of Darwin Nunez, Fabio Carvalho and Calvin Ramsey.

They might face major competition for the England international though, with reports in Spain suggesting Real Madrid will try to sign Bellingham.

Los Blancos already have two of the game’s most exciting young midfielders in Eduardo Camavinga and Aurelien Tchouameni – who Liverpool were also linked with. Adding Bellingham would give them a formidable triumvirate at the hub of the team for years to come.

Bellingham’s own recent social media activity is unlikely to calm rumours linking him with a move to Liverpool, as he left a comment on Jordan Henderson’s recent post.

Henderson posted a message on Instagram about a recent documentary that has been filmed about him, which includes a number of current Reds players offering their opinions on the club captain.

Bellingham also opted to offer his assessment and replied to Henderson’s message with a one-word answer – “legend.”

Liverpool’s search for a midfielder has been widely reported to be on the agenda for 2023, with Jude Bellingham’s name prominently featuring in that discussion.

The Reds do not want to settle and the 18-year-old would represent a long-term investment, but Borussia Dortmund will not to let him go on the cheap, not to mention wages.

But while Liverpool are one of many suitors for the young midfielder, would Bellingham himself be interested?

Well, Goal’s Neil Jones has reported that “it is understood the player would be more than interested in a move to Merseyside,” with only the figures behind the deal perhaps proving prohibitive for the Reds.

It’s a transfer that is on the wishlist of many Liverpool fans but a fee could be in the region of £100 million, with that only to rise with a successful season and World Cup campaign.

With Man United, Chelsea and Man City also among the suitors, it’s looking like a potential bidding war but having the player onside is always helpful.

As for other targets of interest, Jones namechecks Aston Villa‘s Carney Chukwuemeka, Inter’s Nicola Barella, PSV’s Ibrahim Sangare and Salzburg’s Luka Sucic as those also on the radar.

From that, it is clear that a young midfielder who can make an impact in the short and long term is on the agenda – but we can cross our fingers that it will, in fact, be Bellingham.

Takumi Minamino’s Liverpool career is over after he completed his transfer to AS Monaco in a deal that could be worth up to £15.5m.

The Reds could more than double their money on the Japan international, who arrived on Merseyside from Red Bull Salzburg in the second half of the 2019/20 season and was never more than a fringe player, leaving a strange legacy as a result.

It has never been easy for Minamino at Anfield, with there always a reason why his Liverpool career didn’t explode into life. From joining the Reds midway through their title-winning campaign before seeing his bedding-in period disrupted by the coronavirus pandemic as he tried to adjust to a new culture, he essentially had to play catch-up from day one.

Takumi Minamino has spoken for the first time since his move to AS Monaco was confirmed.

The Japanese international completed his exit from Liverpool on Tuesday afternoon in a deal that could be worth up to £15.5m. The ECHO understands the Reds will receive £12.9m up front from the Ligue 1 club, with up to a further £2.6m in add-ons.

Having moved to Anfield from Red Bull Salzburg in a £7.25m deal in January 2020, Minamino scored 14 goals in 55 appearances. However, he was never quite a regular at the club and spent the second half of the 2020/21 season on loan at Southampton.

Northern Ireland legend Gareth McAuley believes Conor Bradley’s loan move to Bolton Wanderers will be fantastic for the young Liverpool defender and said it ‘could be the making’ of him.

Bradley, 18, joined the League One side on a season-long loan deal last week. The right-back made his debut for Liverpool last season in a Carabao Cup tie away at Norwich City and also featured in FA Cup and Champions League fixtures. In total, he made six appearances across the campaign.

Chelsea have emerged as favourites to sign Leeds United winger Raphinha, according to The Athletic’s David Ornstein.

The Brazillian had been linked with a move to Anfield but now looks set to sign for the Stamford Bridge club after they are close to agreeing a fee north of £55m with Jesse Marsch’s side.

Liverpool transfer target Jude Bellingham has sent a message to Reds skipper Jordan Henderson.

Bellingham commented on Henderson’s Instagram post following the ‘Jordan Henderson is Never Done’ documentary, presented by Nike Football, which was released on Saturday. The documentary tells the story of the Liverpool captain’s career through the ‘voices of those who know him best’.

Henderson posted: “Thank you to everyone who took part in this ‘Never Done’ series. What people had to say in it means a lot to me and I will continue to give them my best going forward. Great job by @lozcast and @glencowie in putting this together and also @nikefootball, who have supported me since day one. More special memories to be made!”

Raheem Sterling is not a popular man when it comes to Liverpool fans. Such a fact is not news, with the England international burning his Reds bridges when forcing through his £49m transfer to Man City back in the summer of 2015.

That might have been seven years ago now, with his former club going from strength-to-strength under Jurgen Klopp following his exit, and emerging as City’s closest title-rivals in recent years, but that has been little consolation to Kopites. When it comes to Sterling, time has been no healer.

Ever since Jon Flanagan flew into the winger to roaring cheers in the opening minutes of his Anfield return in March 2016, just days after City had overcome the Reds in the League Cup final at Wembley, he has been made well-aware of his standing with his departure taken most personally. This is war.

Takumi Minamino has left Liverpool after completing his move to Monaco.

The Reds agreed a deal which could be worth up to £15.5m for the Japan international last week. It’s understood they will receive £12.9m up front from the Ligue 1 club, with up to a further £2.6m in add-ons

With the new season on the horizon, fans await the official unveiling of both the away kit and the third kit.

Liverpool and Nike have already released next season’s home kit, which is inspired by the attitude of ‘Scouse solidarity’ and reflects the mentality of its people – one that makes the city truly unique. This will be the club’s third campaign with the manufacturer, but there’s certainly some debate over where their kits rank among those of the past.

The Reds have had some memorable kits over the years. In recent times, the final strip produced by New Balance in 2019/20 is no doubt one of the favourites and will be etched in the minds of supporters given the club lifted their first Premier League title in 30 years that season.

Liverpool are being linked with a move for Bayern Munich forward Serge Gnabry.

According to Sport, the Reds have Gnabry in their sights after the exits of Sadio Mane, Divock Origi and, pending a medical, Takumi Minamino.

It has also been claimed that Real Madrid are expressing an interest in Gnabry, who has one year left on his contract and is stalling over negotiations for an extension.

The summer of 2005 was filled with euphoria for Liverpool.

In May, an incredible and historic Champions League triumph over AC Milan meant the Reds were the cream of Europe once again. Under the stewardship of Rafa Benitez, the club had the opportunity to build on its success in Europe in the summer transfer window by bringing in players to challenge for further silverware.

One of the players brought to Merseyside that summer was Mohamed ‘Momo’ Sissoko. Signing from Valencia, in a £5.6m deal, the Mali international was someone that Benitez

There were high hopes for the then-20-year-old. Signed to be Benitez’s new holding midfielder and to partner Steven Gerrard and Xabi Alonso, those connected to the club were hoping Sissoko would have a similar effect on the Reds that Patrick Vieira did at Arsenal.

Brighton youngster Evan Ferguson has explained why he rejected a move to Liverpool.

The Reds were apparently interested in signing the young striker when he was at Irish club Bohemians. He completed a move to Brighton in January 2021, and has since impressed for the club’s Under-23 side.

Ferguson scored eight goals in 17 Premier League 2 appearances for Brighton’s Under-23 side. He was also awarded first-team chances by Graham Potter in the FA Cup, Carabao Cup and Premier League last season.

And Ferguson has now admitted that he opted against a move to Liverpool due to thinking he would not get those chances. The 17-year-old says that seeing other young players who sign for the Reds “fade away” played a key role in his decision not to move to Merseyside.

An expected new addition to the Premier League has been told he could replicate Virgil van Dijk’s impact at Liverpool.

The Reds signed Van Dijk from Southampton in a £75million deal back in January 2018. Since then he has gone on to become one of the world’s best centre-backs and bring six major trophies to Anfield.

Prior to his move to Liverpool, Van Dijk progressed through the ranks at Groningen in his homeland the Netherlands. He then made his way to Celtic before a move to Southampton eventually led him to Merseyside.

Van Dijk’s Dutch team-mate Sven Botman appears to be closing in on a move to Newcastle United. Reports suggest a £32m deal has been agreed for the Lille defender, who helped win the Ligue 1 title in 2021.

Dutch football expert Marcel van der Kraan believes that Botman could follow Van Dijk’s footsteps by having a major impact in the Premier League. He added that both defenders have some similarities in both their game and they way they are viewed in the Netherlands.

Alisson Becker has praised Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson and explained why he has so much trust in his team-mate.

The Reds skipper has been at Anfield for 11 years, after his move from Sunderland in 2011. In contrast, Alisson is about to have his fifth season as a Liverpool player.

Henderson recently released a documentary entitled ‘Jordan Henderson is Never Done’. In the programme, Alisson is interviewed where he speaks very highly of the Liverpool skipper.

Alisson explains why he often tries to find Henderson on the pitch when he has the ball. The goalkeeper went on to describe the importance that Henderson has on himself and the rest of the Liverpool squad.

A round-up of the latest Liverpool transfer rumours including updates on Jude Bellingham, Serge Gnabry and Marco Asensio.

Liverpool continue to be linked with a move for Real Madrid forward Marco Asensio.

The latest report from Spanish news outlet COPE, which claims that the Reds have made Asensio an offer to move to Anfield this summer.

It has also been claimed that AC Milan are also interested in signing the Spain international.

The report states that Asensio’s future is “increasingly likely” to be away from Real Madrid, but does not say which club out of Liverpool or Milan are likely to sign him.

Sepp van den Berg looks set to leave Liverpool on loan once again this summer but will start pre-season with Jurgen Klopp’s first team ahead of the Reds reporting back to the AXA Training Centre on July 4.

The Dutchman, who joined Liverpool in a £1.3m deal from PEC Zwolle in the summer of 2019, which could rise to £4.4m, made four domestic cup appearances during his first season at Anfield before spending the past 18 months on loan in the Championship with Preston North End. Joining the Lilywhites temporarily as part of the deal which saw Ben Davies move the other way, he made 64 appearances, scoring two goals, as he impressed both at centre-back and right wing-back.

Reds bosses have been impressed by the Dutchman’s progress during his time away on loan, and he will start pre-season with the Liverpool first team as a result, in contrast to last season where he saw his temporary move to Preston extended early in the summer.

Sadio Mane has been told that he could have been “more respectful” to Liverpool over his departure this summer.

The Reds sold their star forward to Bayern Munich last week in a £35million deal. Mane spent six years on Merseyside, where he scored 120 goals and helped win six major trophies.

While on international duty with Senegal at the start of this month, Mane admitted that he would “do what they want” in reference to fans from his home country. The 30-year-old said: “60 to 70% of Senegalese want me to leave Liverpool? I’ll do what they want. We’ll see soon.”

Former Leeds United striker Noel Whelan has praised Mane for his impact at Liverpool, but believes the forward could have handled his exit in a better fashion.

Liverpool continue to be linked with a move for Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham.

According to a fresh report from Goal, the Reds are aware that they will face fierce competition for Bellingham’s signature.

After the signing of Calvin Ramsay from Aberdeen, and the arrivals of Darwin Nunez and Fabio Carvalho, Liverpool are done with their incoming business this summer.

However, reports continue to circulate over Bellingham’s future, even those club sources have indicated that a new midfielder will not be targeted until 2023.

The report says that Chelsea, Manchester United, Manchester City, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are all looking at the possibility of signing Bellingham, as well as Liverpool.
