Ronaldo fitness hint as Man United stars convene ahead of West Ham

Major Ronaldo & Cavani fitness hints as Man United stars spotted convening ahead of West Ham

Cristiano Ronaldo looks set to be available for Manchester United’s showdown with West Ham United on Saturday, it has been revealed.

The subject of Portuguese icon Ronaldo’s fitness has of course emerged as a major talking point ahead of the Red Devils’ return to action.

This comes with the 36-year-old, days on from making his frustrations crystal clear after being hooked prematurely during the club’s win over Brentford, having suffered a fresh fitness issue.

In an official statement earlier released this evening, United confirmed that Ronaldo has picked up a neck injury, leaving him in doubt to feature in the club’s meeting with West Ham:

If the latest update on the situation to have emerged late on Friday evening is anything to go by, however, then the Red Devils faithful need not fret.

As revealed by the Manchester Evening News, Ronaldo was spotted linking up with the rest of Ralf Rangnick’s first-team squad at the Lowry Hotel a short time ago.

Not only that, but Edinson Cavani, too viewed as a doubt to feature on Saturday, was in attendance, too.

Missing out on the other hand were both Victor Lindelof – whose wife and sons were the victims of a robbery at their home this week, and Jadon Sancho – who missed out against Brentford owing to a bereavement in the English international’s family.

Old Trafford showdown

United’s fast-approaching clash with West Ham marks a crucial one in the race for Champions League football in the English top-flight.

This comes with the two sides, as things stand, separated by just two points in the table.

It is David Moyes’ Hammers who boast the advantage as things stand, albeit having played a game more than their upcoming hosts, with both Arsenal and Tottenham also firmly in the mix to clinch the final top-4 berth.
