The Englishman Sam Curran falls from the squad due to a back injury – new sport96
The English all-rounder Sam Curran is out of the T20 World Cup due to a back injury.
Curran complained of back pain after playing for the Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League on Saturday and scans have shown a lower back problem.
The 23-year-old’s brother, Tom, has been called up to replace the squad and will be replaced on the reserve list by the fast bowler Reece Topley.
England’s first World Cup game will take place on October 23rd against the West Indies.

Curran will be flying back to the UK in the coming days, where he will have the British medical team carry out further examinations to assess the injury.
Hopefully another assessment will show whether the Surrey player will be available for the Ashes series against Australia set to begin in December.
An injury has already excluded English fast bowler Jofra Archer from the World Cup while all-rounder Ben Stokes is also missing as he continues to take an indefinite break from cricket to prioritize his mental health.
The members of the English squad who do not play in the IPL arrived in Oman on Monday, where the tournament is held alongside the United Arab Emirates.
