Chelsea midfielders N’Golo Kante and Mateo Kovacic took part in Friday’s training ahead after Thomas Tuchel confirmed his plan to play the pair in the FA Cup final against Liverpool despite injury concerns.

Both Kante and Kovacic were doubts for Saturday’s trip to Wembley due to injury problems.

However, during Friday’s press conference, Tuchel insisted that he was hopeful that these two could participate in the last training session.

Fortunately for Chelsea, they were both involved in the afternoon session, the club’s official website confirmed.

It remains unclear whether both Kante and Kovacic are 100 percent fit and ready to play from the first minute, but Tuchel already said that he is willing to take risks.

Jorginho and Ruben Loftus-Cheek, whom Tuchel may also rely on, seem to be ready for the final.

Liverpool, on the other hand, will likely be without key midfielder Fabinho.

“[He] will definitely be back for the [Champions League] final, and for the Chelsea final and before, we will see, we don’t know. That’s it,” Klopp said in his press conference this afternoon.

The Merseyside club are also under bigger pressure to win their remaining league fixtures amid the fierce title race with Manchester City which may influence Jurgen Klopp’s team decisions.

“We might play tomorrow 90 minutes, we might play 120 minutes – that will not change the kick-off time for the Southampton game,” the German added.
